The build specs and other information are listed below. Here are some more interesting facts about the 1976 Corvette.
The convertible was dropped this year, so only the Stingray coupe remained. The remaining coupe had the famous T-top removable roof panels. A partial steel underbody replaced the traditional fiberglass, to add strength and improve shielding from exhaust system heat. A new one-piece Corvette nameplate was placed on the rear bumper, between the taillights.
Of the 10 body colors, eight were Corvette exclusives:
Inside was a new, smaller four-spoke Chevy Vega sport steering wheel with crossed-flags medallion. Due to having come from such a lesser car, this steering wheel only lasted one year, which also makes this a unique year. A grained vinyl-trimmed instrument panel (with stitched seams) held a 160-mph speedometer with trip odometer and 7,000-rpm electronic tachometer. Corvettes had fully-independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. The alarm was set via a key lock in the left front fender. It also had GR7O SBR tires and 15 x 8-inch wheels.

Behind the seat-backs were three carpeted storage compartments, which held the jack and other equipment. Interior leather trim was now available in seven colors, while vinyl was available in four colors.
